The Anointing Oil Shop

Shortly after LoveUnlimited Ministries was founded in 2006 — when our foundation was still called Jaweh Ministries International — we started a small webshop. Among other things, we offered a number of bottles of anointing oil. It was not much yet and business was certainly not booming, but precisely through this we came into contact with a good friend and brother in the Lord. He too had a small webshop, but one entirely focused on anointing oil.

In those days anointing oil was only sparingly available in the Netherlands and there was still very little knowledge about its biblical use. This brother taught about it and encouraged people to apply anointing with oil as an act of faith in their lives. At the time I still knew relatively little about this subject myself, and I was able to learn a great deal from him.

At a certain point he decided to donate The Anointing Oil Shop to our foundation. We were, and still are, especially grateful for that. It was not just any gift. For us, this transfer carried a deep spiritual meaning.

From that moment on we continued to develop the shop. The range was broadened and, slowly but surely, a growing product line became visible. The goal, however, remained unchanged: to share knowledge about anointing oil and anointing, to encourage people to apply this biblical act of faith, and to make quality anointing oil accessible to people in the Netherlands. All of this without any profit motive.

What struck us was that a lot of the anointing oil that was available in the Netherlands at the time was of very low quality. Often the oil initially smelled reasonably pleasant, but shortly after use a musty, unpleasant odour would develop. In our view, this did no justice to the special spiritual meaning that anointing oil carries.

We therefore tested various brands and quickly came to the conclusion that there were really only two producers that could supply both quality and affordable anointing oil. In the end we chose Abba Oil. Alongside the business partnership, a close and valuable friendship also grew with the founders and owners of Abba Oil, Rodger and Greer Kenworthy.

In 2015 I set out to write a short study on anointing oil for our website. At that moment, however, the Lord held me back and set me a challenge. He said:

"I do not want you to just write a short study. There is more. Much more. But I want you to go and search for it yourself."

I realised that when God challenges you in this way, He also wants to open His treasure rooms of knowledge, wisdom and insight when you respond. So I took up the challenge and began to study the Bible from beginning to end. I examined every Bible verse concerning anointing and anointing oil — in Dutch, in English, from the source texts and within the context of Jewish culture.

The result was a collection of 345 Bible verses. Far more than I had ever expected.

Then I began to write down everything the Lord showed me during this study. After about half a year, the study had grown so extensive that it was no longer suitable as a short article for a website. A book had come into being: The Anointed Bride.

When I had the book printed for the first time, I ordered a hundred copies. I assumed that I might sell a few and that the rest would sit in my cupboard for years, as had been the case with so many of my earlier "projects."

But a month later all one hundred copies had been sold. The following month another hundred copies were sold.

I cannot explain that in any way other than that God had His hand upon it, because I was by no means a well-known author. During this process I also discovered that there were hardly any other books that spoke so extensively, broadly and biblically about anointing and anointing oil.

The Anointed Bride is now available in Dutch, English and German. To my own amazement, about 10,000 copies have been sold worldwide.

At the end of 2017 our world was turned completely upside down. Not slightly, but totally. An attack was launched on our income, our integrity and our security of existence. The consequences were so severe that in April 2018 we lost our home and became homeless.

The situation was so distressing that we saw no other option than to stop with The Anointing Oil Shop. Yet we wanted to prevent this work from being lost. Therefore, we asked a befriended organisation to take it over from us.

From that moment on, Con and Heleen de Kort of the Fire in the House Ministries Foundation carried the work. With enormous dedication, perseverance and integrity, they contributed to the further development and growth of The Anointing Oil Shop. What the enemy thought he could destroy did not become smaller as a result, but rather grew larger and stronger.

The first part of our own difficult period came to an end in November 2021. In April 2024 this period was definitively closed. From that moment on a process of restoration was set in motion which continues to this day.

In August 2024 our good friend Rodger Kenworthy passed away and was allowed to go home to the Lord. In December 2025 our friend Heleen de Kort also passed away and was allowed to go to her Lord and Saviour.

In March 2026 we were asked to take The Anointing Oil Shop back under our care. We agreed. Since then The Anointing Oil Shop is once again part of the LoveUnlimited Ministries Foundation.

Through all the years, changes and difficult circumstances, one thing has always remained certain for us: The Anointing Oil Shop has remained a work of the Lord, regardless of who was responsible at any given moment for its practical operation.
